The Secret Key to Recovery for All Survivors of Abuse
"This is for every person in the world who has survived an abusive family, relationship or sociopath, female and male:
"Getting "through" abuse and recovering from it is easier to focus on, than getting "over" it. It takes time to heal and you are not alone in your struggle. First you must realize that you are worth it and deserve so much more. You must learn to value and love yourself and undo all the negative programming and "you messages," which you have been made to believe and become your own protector of yourself, your mind, your heart and your spirit. This is the key to recovery: Love and trust go hand in hand. One does not exist without the other. There is no real love without trust. One must learn to trust their inner instincts, how to love themselves, but to do that you must love and trust yourself first and learn to trust that urging and how to listen to that small voice within. You will learn to trust when you begin to love and trust yourself and your own instincts and judgments. Once you can do that and you've proven to yourself that your instincts were correct, you will learn to trust again. Because your own instincts will confirm to you who you can trust. This is the whole secret to getting "over" the abuse. The key is learning to trust again and first we must learn to trust ourselves. To protect ourselves we must trust our own inner judgement about who is dangerous and who is not. Having learned these things, will bring forth your own inner light, that part of you that is connected to the creator, to divinity, and it will shine brightly for others to love and learn from too." - Teressa Brewer
